Once again, SampleCon did it right for their annual conference, held in New Orleans last week. We found that SampleCon approaches this event a little different than some of the other conferences we attend – namely they limit the number of attendees and there is no exhibit area. Our team found this beneficial as it was easier to network with people one-on-one and we were able focus our energy on attending valuable conference sessions. Speaking of the conference sessions, Chuck Davis kicked off the event with an energetic keynote that got all the sessions off on the right foot. The energy continued throughout the show, and we were able to attend many sessions that resonated and were relevant to the issues the industry faces today. Our own panel – “Ease Of Engagement — Capturing Respondents In An Instant” was also well-received. The east coast blizzard affected us all the way down in New Orleans, as one of our panel members – Denise Brien from AOL – was stranded due to weather. Luckily, technology prevailed and she was able to attend via satellite. The panel, whose other members were our CEO Jonathan Price and Dave Carruthers of VoxPopMe along with moderator Ben Smithee, covered a range of information about respondent engagement including:
- Addressing the needs of respondents who are immersed in a fast-paced, technology driven world that demands instant gratification
- The impact of an engaged sample on response rates and actionable data
- New techniques and technologies to engage a wide array of respondents
